Anubis Greatheart, the great hunter kitty of the Redwoods, needs serious and expensive dental surgery and this is a benefit in his honor. All donations and raffle proceeds go directly to his care!

Who am I?

I am Anubis GreatHeart, a very large, very black cat who loves to hunt in the great out-of-doors. I weigh about 15 pounds and have short, soft fur and a white blaze on my chest. I live at Dragondale, a nice little place in the redwoods up the San Lorenzo Valley from Santa Cruz CA.

I came to live here when I was 7 months old with my brother ( who looks remarkably like me!!!). We two had been feral little kitties in Daly City and a very kind woman, Auntie Dorrie, caught us when we were 4 months old, tamed us and gave us lots of love (and took us to the vet too). We were socialized with her other cats and learned to behave well in company.

Then Auntie Dorrie told us we should go live in the redwood forest with her friend J'té. We could go outside there and have lots of fun hunting things, so we said YES!!!!!

My brother, Osirus, and I have been having great fun here in the redwoods for nearly 3 years now. Our mistress is very happy that there are no longer any rats around the place too!

Now I have a really painful health problem. My vet says that I am allergic to my saliva, which is why my gums are swollen and bleeding and my teeth are making me VERY sick. My vet says I need surgery real soon. My Auntie Pearl is helping give me all my medications and she hugs me allot too! My vet says she will try to save my canine (funny word to use for a cat??) teeth. Personally, I prefer to call them FANGS!
My Mistress never cuts my claws, which are quite long and sharp. I am confident that when the surgery is done and my mouth is healed I will be right back to hunting in the yard with my brother.
